I loooove talking about blood sugar. It literally excites me (I know...I know), so when I had the chance to interview Blood Sugar Expert Shonda Holt I jumped at it.

Let me walk you through a typical day with unbalanced blood sugar, because maybe you can relate.
You wake up to your alarm going off in the morning. You're tired so you push that snooze button twice. You finally get out of bed, get ready and of course are running late so you grab a bagel and eat in the car.
You're hungry again by 10 so you have that granola bar you packed, but get so busy you work right through lunch. You're exhausted by 2, fending off the beginnings of a migraine and craving something sweet. You head home after a long afternoon and snack on a bag of chips while making dinner. After dinner you watch some Netflix with a big bowl of popcorn and go to bed a bit too late just to start the cycle over again.
Want to know something? If you had just taken the time to have a blood sugar balancing breakfast instead of the bagel (or cereal or toast or sugar bomb of a smoothie), waited until lunch for your next meal and focused on protein & fat, you would set yourself up to avoid the headache and sugar craving, feel more alert in the afternoon and not have to snack throughout your entire evening.
